Scuppers are openings that are incorporated into the walls at the edge of the roof. They sit slightly above the roof surface, and are typically only needed during times of heavy rain because they direct water down the side of the building. Other common drainage solutions include gutters, siphonic drains, and gravity drains.
Rubber Commercial Roofing Options
Rubber roofing is made of rubber or plastic polymers or a combination of both. TPO is the most commonly used. It is durable, flexible, and can be easily customized for your roof. PVC is known to be longer lasting and is also flame resistant, strong, and doesn’t affect energy efficiency. EPDM roofing is a great solution for cooler climates, as it has a durable rubber layer.
